Which Version?

There are 4 versions of the program.

• Zend version for PHP 4
• Zend version for PHP 5
• Ioncube version for PHP 4
• Ioncube version for PHP 5

The version you need depends on your server setup.

PHP 4 or PHP 5
Obviously you need to use the version that is on your server. 4.x or 5.x. You should note that support for PHP 4 is coming to an end and hosts should be upgrading to PHP 5 soon if they have not already. Don't worry switching between versions is easy.

Zend or Ioncube
If Zend Optimizer is installed on the server you can use the Zend version or  the Ioncube version. If Zend Optimizer is not installed you will need to use the Ioncube version.

If Ioncube is installed server-wide you do not need to upload the Ioncube loaders to use the Ioncube version. If it is not you will need to upload the ioncube folder to your account.

Ioncube Notes:

• The loaders are located in the ioncube folder.
• There is a test file located in the ioncube folder that will help you determine if Ioncube will work on your server and which loader you need.
• You can upload them all or just the specific loaders for your OS and PHP version. We recommend uploading for your current version and above so when PHP is upgraded the loader will already be in place.
• We include the most common loaders in the download. You can download loaders for other OS's  or updated loaders free of charge at ioncube.com.
